Applicants must satisfy the
General Entry Requirements for admission, namely, the Matriculation Certificate and Secondary Education Certificate passes at Grade 5 or better in Maltese, English Language and Mathematics.
Applicants must also satisfy the following
Special Course Requirements:
Passes at Advanced Level at Grade C or better in Biology and Chemistry and a pass at Intermediate Level in Physics.
Applicants who possess a grade D instead of a grade C in one of the required subjects at Advanced Level shall be admitted under those conditions as the Admissions Committee of the Faculty of Health Sciences may impose to compensate for the missing element. If, by the end of the first year of the Course, such students do not successfully complete all the requirements to progress regularly to the second year of the Course, they shall be required to withdraw from the Course, and shall neither be entitled to repeat the year nor to progress conditionally as normally permitted under the Principal Regulations.
The number of students shall be limited to 24 students.
Applicants who are fully qualified by 31 August 2018 will be considered first and will be placed in rank order. If, after this initial ranking, vacant places are still available, and if applicants would have obtained the necessary qualifications by 28 September 2018, they shall be considered for selection to take up any remaining places. The selection criteria can be found
here.
Whilst filling in the online application, applicants must have their Police Certificate of Conduct in hand as they are required to include certain details from the Police Certificate of Conduct in the application form.
On acceptance, applicants are required to submit a recent Police Certificate of Conduct (not more than 6 months old) to the respective Departmental Secretary at the Faculty of Health Sciences (Block A, Level 1, Mater Dei Hospital). It is advisable that this mandatory document is submitted by hand. Further instructions will be communicated to accepted applicants at a further stage.
