IT Services

IT Services manages the Junior College IT infrastructure and offers a range of facilities and services to assist students in their IT-related needs during their course of studies.

As a JC student you are provided with an IT Account that grants access to several services, including an email address for receiving all official emails by the College.

Open Access Computer Lab: IT Services manages an open access computer laboratory and a number of workstations found in the library that are available to students. These workstations offer the use of standard software packages, email, web browsing, printing and scanning facilities. Some workstations offer access to other specialised application software such as ACAD. The Lab is located in Room C208.

Wireless Hotspots: cover most areas of the College and provide students with an Internet connection on their personal devices. The Junior College is a participating institution in the eduroam (education roaming) Wi-Fi service. Students who visit another local or foreign eduroam-participating institution are able to connect to their wireless network using their Junior College IT Account.

eSIMS JC (Electronic Student Information Management System): enables students to view and update their personal details, and access details relating to their registered courses, their timetable, the results of their assessments and end-of-year examinations and re-sits.

JC VLE (Virtual Learning Environment): a web-based learning environment that supports students in their studies and provides access to teaching material and resources set up by lecturers.
