Abstract: This research analysed the Presidents of the Republic of Malta chronologically, giving the reader an insight to the Presidential powers enshrined in Article 5 of the Constitution of Malta. This research led to an assessment of President Emeritus Guido de Marco’s tenure in comparison to other presidential mandates, in order to determine the result of the diplomatic relations of President Emeritus de Marco during his state visits. The aim of this analysis was to give an understanding of the country’s political agenda in relation to its global status. This research assessed the basis on which Malta must set up its future diplomatic relations in order to promote stability and enhance the Maltese economy.
