| Abstract: | Emiena 3,3 'fidelity'; the root occurs in the verb emmen 'to believe'. The first form emen 'to be loyal' does not occur in Maltese. The noun emiena has been formed from it and corresponds to Arabic (amana) 'loyalty, fidelity'. |
