| Abstract: | Nowadays the word spirituality has captured the eyes of many for various reasons. When we speak about hospital chaplaincy we are entering the domain ofthe spiritual within the hospital setting. By spirituality we mean "an awareness of relationships with all creation, an appreciation of presence and purpose that includes a sense of meaning". The word spirituality includes religion. Spiritual care is inclusive of pastoral care. Those who provide spiritual care in healthcare settings are often known as chaplains, although in some settings they may be described as spiritual care providers. |
