Abstract: This is the second part of the Dissertation that the author has written for an MA in Linguistics from the Department of Linguistic Science of the University of Reading in England during the academic year 1996-1997. The first part of the dissertation was published in Melita Theologica LIII/I(2002)3-26. The second part of the dissertation consists mainly of the data from the sources mentioned in paragraphs 1.4.4.1 and 1.4.4.2 and of an evaluation of these data. As the amount of the data(2000 clauses, one thousand from the writings of Prof Saydon and one thousand from the expressions of contemporary Maltese) is by far too great to reproduce within the framework of a review, and as the sources are available for the readers to consult, the author of this abridged version of the dissertation decided to reproduce only a small part of this data, the first entries from the Saydon data, gathered from Genesis 1-30. He is reproducing them only by way of example of how he analysed the data gleaned from the sources.
