Abstract: A Greek inscription dealing with Lucius Castricius Prudens, a Roman Knight, was first published by Quintinus in 1536 in his description of the island of Malta.’ The inscription, which is generally attributed to the time of the Emperor Tiberius (14-37 A.D.), is very important for the light it throws on the history of the island in the first century of our era. Lucius Castricius Prudens was mowtog of the Maltese.
