| Abstract: | This Report aims to give an overview of the Maltese legal framework regarding consular affairs. It focuses on the relevant domestic framework and also the status of applicable international treaties vis-a-vis Malta, together with applicable EU law. In the Maltese legal system there is no specific right to consular protection; this is provided as a matter of practice. |
