Abstract: 1.1 Aims: The aim of this dissertation is to introduce the concept of management planning, and to select an identified area as a case study, which requires a form of management since it is a highly frequented locality. This aim will be fulfilled by identifying the main problems of the identified area (in this case part of Delimara area), by conducting various surveys, analysing the data and any planning policies related to the area, and to identify the objectives for the area. The proposed strategy will give several options which can be used to reach the objectives. The strategy's main objective is to protect the environment and at the same time, making the area more accessible to people. This objective fulfills the Marsaxlokk local plan strategy. 1.2. The main policy context is the Marsaxlokk Bay Local Plan which deals with Delimara peninsula. However, the Structure Plan will be consulted as well • Chapter 3: Report of Surveys. This chapter describes the methodology used for the required surveys, and summarises the data gathered by the surveys conducted on the site chosen for this report. Any necessary details will be included in the Appendix. • Chapter 4: Proposed Strategy. This chapter identifies the main objectives of the proposed strategy for the area considered taking into account the relevant policies with reference to each. Several possible options will be identified, based on the strategy objectives and on the policy framework effecting the site. [...]
