dc.description.abstract | This chapter explores the relationship between early childhood education and care (ECEC) and planetary health. In general, the term ‘health’ implies the level of physical health of individuals, and it does not take into account the cost incurred in achieving those health gains (Whitmee et al. 2015). While it is essential to understand the importantce of the progress made so far in human health and wellbeing, the ecological impact of such progress needs to be factored in as well. Human health and the health of the natural environment are interconnected, hence the term ‘planetary health’. | en_GB |
