| Abstract: | In the midpoint of research work carried out in the Florentine Carmelice of Santa Maria degli Angeli for the completion of my doctoral thesis I came across two manuscript copies of Achille Gagliardi's Compendia di Perfettione Christiana. So far, only the copy that was ad usum of Maria Maddalena de' Pazzi had been discovered. The other was still lying under other tomes, on the bookshelves of the monastic archives. The discovery of this unknown copy is here deemed to be important, since it provides clues for the dating of the version of the Compendia owned by Saint Maria Maddalena de' Pazzi ( 1566-1607). |
