| Abstract: | Faith has a role to play in the public square and it is our duty to strengthen our efforts in acting as peace builders for a better world. People long to see us together and engage in respectful dialogue. The state too requires our pastoral service to ensure harmony and peace, and we need each other to stand together and to transmit a sense of belonging and security in a world marked by many conflicts and a feeling of global uncertainty. In other words, we need to lead by example. Dialogue and proclamation do not exclude one another. They are intimately connected and though their distinction must be maintained, the two should never be confused or instrumentalized or judged equivalent. |
