Abstract: In this long essay I will be describing the effects of climate change on agriculture. I will also mention the impacts of agriculture on climate change. Climate change effects are seen after an amount of years as gases accumulate in the atmosphere. These gases are released mainly from the energy sector, agriculture, transport and waste management. As greenhouse gases emissions increase, temperatures worldwide will also increase creating some serious problems. These problems are increasing sea levels, melting of glaciers, high temperatures causing a shift in climate in several countries, increase in extreme weather events, droughts, and heat waves. The EU is providing farmers with funding to help them adapt to climate change and compensate them for works involved. These impacts affect agriculture practices and the industry in its yield and quality of the produce. The farmer has to adapt to climate change impacts and in the meantime uses agricultural practices that help him in mitigation of the emissions. There are several remedies that are being applied in order to reduce emissions from the agriculture sector, but there is still not enough attention focused to reduce these emissions. Some of these remedies would be the use of renewable energy resources and better agriculture practices.
