| Description: | A bird's eye-view of the life of Cardinal Schuster, the Archbishop of Milan during the Fascist period in Italy, World War II and the bleak post-war years. The review presents an overview of the life and mission of Cardinal Schuster, archbishop of Milan from 1929 to 1954, beatified by Pope John Paul II in May 1996. The author of the booklet under review, a religious sister, Suor Amalia, worked at the archbishop's residence. She thus offers first-hand accounts about the commitments and the witness given by Schuster in the daily running of the diocese during very challenging times. |
