Abstract: | The chemical senses of the body are more extensive than one may think. Although research has progressed on both the olfactory and especially gustatory systems, there is still a constant race to determine any new findings possible related to these systems. Even though these are two separate systems, they are dependent on each other. This review describes various disorders associated with both smell eg: anosmia and hyperosmia; and taste for example ageusia, and parageusia. The correlation between COVID-19, Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s Disease with olfactory and gustatory disorders is also discussed. |
