Abstract: The brief article commemorates the eighth anniversary in 2022 of the inauguration of the Malta Office of the Papal Foundation Aid to the Church in Need. Tha author writes about the witness of Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk of Kiev, during the first months of the war in Ukraine. In the context of great suffering, the author narrates the personal testimony of his friend Shevchuk. What is so impressive was that Christians coming from different separated Churches, particularly Catholics and Orthodox were one in prayer around the discovered mass graves. Moreover, persons from other religions joined them to pray for those who had been brutally murdered.
