Abstract: Feet, chains and faith. Contractual sufferance. A quid-pro-quo for heaven and earth. Life and art in street and temple. Some whip themselves, others chain their naked feet. Some kneel all the way to Compostella, others up the Zen staircase, some to heaven and to hell, others to naught and nothingness. A biography in feet, fleeting away lightly hovering over its iron heaviness. The truth of one camouflaged as untruth while the untruth of the other discernible as truth. The smell of Velazquez's Vulcan in one and of incense in another. The crudeness of raw flesh in one and the sour sweetness of the other.
