Abstract: This dissertation seeks to analyse Il-Jien u Lilhinn Minnu, the most important poem written by Dun Karm Psaila, the national poet of Malta, within the theological framework of the Mediterranean Theology. The author endeavours to explore a theology which will bring into play “new narratives” that start from listening to the roots and to the present, and that speak to the hearts of people. The dissertation will focus on the metaphor of the journey, also expressed in existential terms and in the tension between the heart and the mind, and present the interaction between people and the environment in the Mediterranean.
