| Abstract: | Joseph Mizzi was born on 21 January 1937 to Saviour and Agnes Mizzi. A few days later, on 24 January, he was baptised at the Parish Church of St Catherine, Żejtun. He was brought up in Ħal Għaxaq, where he attended Primary School between 1942 and 1949 . In 1949, at twelve years of age, he started attending Schola Mariano-Appostolica, the newly inaugurated Secondary School run by the Carmelite friars in Valletta, where he stayed for three years until 1952. There, he also felt called to join the Carmelite friars. |
