Abstract:	It is both an honour and a pleasure to be presenting this foreword accompanying Il-Ħaġar’s temporary exhibition for the Sena Ġużeppina proposed by Pope Francis for the sesquicentenary of the 1870 declaration by Blessed Pius IX of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. Not to hide my ‘personal’ interests, Joseph is one of my baptismal names; and my sister with whom I live is called Josette. We have always been attracted to St Joseph, not just because of the Wistin Camilleri statue in the parish church (which now has the title of Basilica) dedicated to Saint George.
