Abstract: This dissertation examines the intricacies involved in effectively and coherently managing the integration and coordination of building services during the design phase of a construction project. Integration within the industry refers to the holistic integration of multiple components, including building services, structural elements, and overall architectural design. In contrast, coordination focuses on attaining this state of integration, placing emphasis on the interdependencies existing among different building services. The complexity of contemporary building designs has increased because of advancements in knowledge and construction techniques. This intricate scenario places design teams under considerable pressure to meet a wide range of requirements. These demands encompass a comprehensive building services solution that seamlessly integrates with both architectural and structural designs harmoniously. The coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems is a critical and challenging undertaking. The establishment of technical coordination is imperative for the development of services and necessitates continuous efforts throughout the project duration. This coordination encompasses not only technical aspects but also managerial considerations. After examining various academic literature regarding the process of integration and coordination of MEP systems, the researcher questioned such a system in the local industry through the qualitative technique of semi-structured interviews. Research revealed that the integration and coordination process need to be effectively managed. Successful completion of projects is dependent on the implementation of effective integration and adequate coordination of the building services within the different building systems. The dissertation highlights the importance of coordination as a crucial determinant of construction project success. The adoption of integration and coordination strategies in construction projects has led to significant enhancements in overall performance, highlighting the importance of dedicated focus on the achievement and effectiveness of these strategies.
