| Abstract: | "Decor autem est", Vitruvius writes, "emendatus operis aspectus". Decoration is the "correct" aspect of work, which the Roman theorist links with a series of very different requirements: statio, which refers to the conceptual appropriateness of architecture to its end, consuetudine, which refers to the correspondence to linguistic rules, and naturalis décor, which consists of the correctness of the site and its orientation, in light's of the building's purpose. |
