| Abstract: | This qualitative research is of significant importance as it aims to determine if there is a relationship between the ethos of a Catholic school and the educators’ spiritual growth. Focused on the secondary campus of St Augustine College, this study addresses a crucial research question: ‘How does the ethos of a Catholic faith school influence the educators’ spiritual growth?’ It is essential to note that the findings of this case study may not be universally applicable to all Catholic schools. This research delves into the educators’ profound journey of spiritual growth, intricately woven into their school life. It aims to determine whether a Catholic school's living ethos has influenced the educators' way of life. The educators are prompted to reflect on whether the school has guided them towards a better Christian life based on the values of the Gospel, recognising their individual growth and value within the school community. This case study brings unique and invaluable insights to the literature related to local Catholic Schools. Specifically tailored for the senior leadership team at St Augustine College's secondary sector, this research provides a deeper understanding of the impact of school ethos on educators' spiritual well-being. These educators, who are an integral part of the school community, have a crucial role in shaping the school's ethos, making this research particularly relevant and insightful. The senior leadership team is privileged to have access to these unique insights that can guide their decision-making and enhance the school's ethos. It turns out that despite the challenges faced daily at college, the educators who participated in this study have shown that throughout the years that they have been employed at this college, they have undergone a spiritual journey in which they have improved themselves. |
