| Abstract: | How much plastic do you think is actually recycled? Maybe 20–25%? What a grand and intoxicating innocence. Only a mere 9% of plastic ever produced has been recycled, and 95% of the plastic used in packaging is disposed of after just one use. However, one local start-up, Natural Edge, has developed an award-winning, food-safe, compostable film made from a natural gelling agent found in seaweed. |
