| Abstract: | On 21 November, 2024, Tim Eicke, Judge of the European Court of Human Rights, delivered a lecture at the Casino Maltese for the annual Mabel Strickland Memorial Lecture. The event centred on the Court’s historic decision in the landmark case, Verein KlimaSeniorinnen Schweiz and Others v. Switzerland, which held that states have a responsibility to combat climate change to protect human rights. Drawing parallels with Malta’s constitutional framework, questions arose about lessons from the judgement applicable to Malta. |
