| Abstract: | Oil-based painting on stone is the most common painting technique used to decorate churches and historical palaces in Malta. Unfortunately, such paintings face several conservation challenges. THINK explores Dr Roberta De Angelis' research into the intricate chemistry of these artworks and her quest to understand the processes of degradation, which in turn informs decisions when it comes to their restoration. |
