Abstract

This guide provides cataloguing instructions for book chapters and journal articles treated as standalone extracts. Since these items are reproductions from larger works, specific cataloguing practices apply. The presentation outlines the required MARC fields, including descriptive notes for format (e.g., photocopy, offprint, facsimile), source details and adjustments to the LDR and 008 fields. The examples illustrate correct metadata entry, based on records from the Melitensia Department, which can also be applied to material in other collections.
