| Abstract: | This study aims to evaluate the potential of Cryptocurrencies as viable investment vehicles in comparison to traditional assets such as stocks, bonds, and real estate. The research focuses on assessing how the viability of Cryptocurrencies measures up against conventional investments by examining key factors such as returns, market behaviour and volatility. Additionally, the research seeks to provide insights and recommendations for investors considering using Cryptocurrency in their investment portfolio. The primary research question that drives this study is: How does the viability of Cryptocurrencies as an investment compare to traditional assets investments like in bonds and stocks. This central question frames the research in terms of understanding how digital assets fit into the larger financial environment. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining both a thorough literature review with quantitative data analysis. This comprehensive technique seeks to combine academic insights and empirical data to create a balanced comparison of Cryptocurrency and traditional assets. The literature review will look at academic insights and empirical data to obtain viewpoints on the function of cryptocurrencies in modern finance. Meanwhile, quantitative tools are utilised to analyse market behaviours, volatility and historical performance. Secondary data is collected on the historical prices of Cryptocurrencies and traditional assets, enabling a comparative analysis of their returns and market dynamics. The research shows that Cryptocurrencies, despite their volatility, have gained traction as viable investment vehicles, with increasing acceptance from both retail and institutional investors. They have demonstrated potential for high returns, sometimes outperforming traditional assets like stocks and bonds. Moreover, their lower correlation with traditional markets provides diversification benefits. The findings suggest that cryptocurrencies can serve as a complement to traditional portfolios, offering opportunities for high returns and diversification. However, they are not without significant risks, and investors should approach them with a clear understanding of their volatility and regulatory uncertainties. Cryptocurrencies can be viable investment vehicles, as they can play a complementary role in a diversified portfolio. While regulatory frameworks are still evolving, there is a growing trend toward integrating Cryptocurrencies into mainstream financial systems. Overall, Cryptocurrencies can complement traditional investments, providing opportunities for high returns, though they require careful risk management due to their inherent volatility. |
