Abstract: Dr Miriam Matejova gave a presentation on her research. Through a fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (QCA), Dr Matejova’s research examines the socio-political contexts in 33 cases of industrial environmental disasters in advanced democracies, searching for conditions for the emergence of non-violent post-disaster protest. Her research also considers characteristics of industrial environmental disasters and particularly their size.
