Integrated Democratic Europe Simulation

Abstract

In March and April 2021 JEF Malta (Young European Federalists) organised an Integrated Democratic Europe Simulation which aimed to be a youth-led simulation for youths. The event was preceded by a training session in December 2020 and a mock simulation in February 2021 with the 3 simulation events being held on 13 March, 10 April and concluding with a closing ceremony on 24 April 2021. Each session sought to simulate a negotiating session within the EU with the first covering ‘our European identity’, the second ‘our public health’ and the third, ‘our digital future’. The event was co-organised and co-funded by the EDIC. Dr Harwood opened each of the formal sessions and gave an overview of the Europe Direct Network as well as the Conference on the Future of Europe.
