Abstract: 1. Introduction 1.1 General Introduction to the Topic The convergence of sports and diplomacy has become an increasingly important subject in international relations, particularly for small EU Member States seeking to expand their global reach. Sports diplomacy is recognized as a tool to enhance international relations and promote European values through sports-related initiatives (Council of the European Union, 2016).
