Online Q&A with Mr Leo Brincat, Member of the European Court of Auditors

Abstract

Mr Leo Brincat, Malta's representative on the Court of Auditors held a Q&A session with students on Monday 16 May 2022 at 14:00. In his presentation he spoke about the of the Court of Auditors within the European Union and the various reports he was involved in, including the report on the EU Migration Policy. In addition to speaking about his work with the Court, he also spoke about the importance of internships and that students should be pursuing such opportunities as such experience is often invaluable for applicants wishing to work with the European Union. The Q&A was opened by Prof Harwood and concluded with various questions from the students, many focusing on the difficulties of ensuring that Court recommendations are adhered to and enforced. While arranged online, the event was a hybrid event with students being hosted in a zoom room on campus and joining the event where the main speaker participated virtually.
