| Abstract: | It is my pleasure and honour, as President of the St John's Co-Cathedral Foundation, to cordially welcome you at the official opening of this conference on European Cathedrals which this year will be focusing on "Sacred Art Conservation as a Vehicle for Re-Evangelization:' We are particularly privileged to convene this gathering in co-operation with the Opera della Primaziale Pisana which is responsible for the conservation of the monuments in Piazza del Duomo in Pisa. This conference will eventually be followed with another one with the same theme, to be held in Pisa towards the end of October of this current year. [excerpt] |
