Abstract: Transhumanism and posthumanism are two terms that describe the interactions between human beings and machines, particularly in relation to human beings, chips, and so-called artificial intelligence. Transhumanism focuses on the improvement of humans through artificial means, while posthumanism focuses on transcending and replacing human beings with machines. What is the purpose of this? One might begin with the fundamental question of what it means to be a human being, and whether they require improvement at all, and if so, in which direction. [excerpt]
