Abstract: Pope Francis’s post-synodal exhortation Amoris laetitia (AL) has sparked significant debate and reflection within the Catholic Church. Particularly notable is the Pope’s decision to dedicate an entire chapter (Chapter VIII) to addressing the so-called ‘irregular situations’, affirming the Church’s responsibility to seek constructive and compassionate approaches to these complex and challenging realities. This task, as outlined in AL, unfolds on two corresponding levels. [excerpt]
