| Abstract: | Starting from the classical notion of aspiration and its mystical significance, this contribution explores the process of aspirative mysticism in Mary Magdalene de’ Pazzi, as articulated in her Complete Works, where her ecstatic phenomena and the verbal transmission of the Divine Word are recorded. The aspirative process in Mary Magdalene de’ Pazzi is interpreted through the lens of Jean de Saint-Samson’s presentation on aspirative prayer, the primary representative of this practice in the Carmelite tradition.
