| Abstract: | Transcendence poses a problem to those who question it, as it points to what is beyond. While it should be pondered in terms of separation between ‘humanity’ and ‘beyond,’ its understanding can only happen through a relationship. Philosophers approach transcendence through human consciousness, contributing to one’s sense of existence, morality, wholeness and completeness. Theologians, on the other hand, ponder the transcendence of God that is inextricably linked with the authenticity of humans. Theologians conceive of God as the creator of the world and as being linked to humanity in various ways: humans are created in God’s image (Gen 1:27), God loves humanity, and the relationship between humans and God has a history, among other aspects.
