| Abstract: | Effective vocal communication is an essential but often overlooked aspect of dance education. While dance teachers undergo extensive training in movement and pedagogy, few receive formal instruction on vocal techniques, vocal health, and voice preservation. This research looks at how voice care and communication techniques affect teacher well-being, student involvement, and teaching success for dance teachers. The difficulties dance teachers encountered concerning voice strain, projection, and endurance were investigated using a combination of observations, qualitative interviews, and scholarly research. Using the knowledge of vocal coaches, speech and language experts, and teacher trainers, the study examines current vocal training techniques and their relevance to dance instruction. Although research on vocal training for educators is well-documented in fields such as theatre, music, and traditional classroom teaching, there is limited focus on dance educators. The results demonstrate that dance teachers commonly get vocal fatigue from long hours, poor studio acoustics, and vocal strain by projecting over music. Few teachers receive voice care training, and many are unaware of proper techniques. This study provides an interactive eBook with exercises, techniques, and strategies to help dance teachers build and maintain strong, healthy, and sustainable vocal practices. |
