| Abstract: | This study employed a quantitative research design, and it has employed survey to collect information regarding SMEs in Malta and as a reference point Mauritius. Some of the perceived effectiveness of the strategies that were assessed in the survey were multi-sourcing, flexibility in inventory, digital technology adoption, strategic stock holding and cooperation with suppliers. Data Analysis The analysis of the data was performed on the basis of descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that those strategies that were considered to be most helpful in the response to the post-pandemic disruptions included multi-sourcing (Mean=3.39) and flexible inventory management (Mean=3.13). It should be mentioned that 77.7% of the respondents believe that digital technologies had positively and significantly contributed to their supply chain performance. However, regression analysis has failed to find the statistically significant impact of the combination of digital technologies, strategic stockholding, and supplier collaboration on the performance outcomes (F(3,17) = 0.775, p=.524), which means that the positive impact may be mediated by other factors (organizational culture, leadership, external support, and so on). The paper concludes that; despite the Maltese SMEs having recognized the need to diversify suppliers and non- lean orientation; the Just-in-Time systems, the holistic aspect towards the development of resilience overtime is needed. |
