| Abstract: | In this personal essay, Giuliana Fenech reflects on the transformative experience of motherhood, identity loss and reclamation, and the rejection of societal ideals of “perfect” motherhood. Drawing on her own journey as a young single mother of twins, she explores themes of lineage, legacy, imperfection, self-kindness, and the evolution of womanhood and personhood. The text interweaves personal narrative with broader cultural and feminist insights, celebrating interconnected care and the power of witnessing joy rather than sacrifice. |
