| Abstract: | Malta's financial sector has seen steady growth over the past three decades. A pro-regulatory approach that encourages innovation and sustainabile growth, rather than excluding new technologies, has allowed the country to position itself as a forward-thinking jurisdiction. However, with increased openness comes increased risk. As Malta continues to attract investment, efforts have intensified to ensure the financial sector is not exploited for illicit purposes. Central to these efforts is the country's evolving understanding of risk. |
