| Abstract: | In financial regulation, crisis and financial failure have created the political will for change, including for the establishment of new agencies in response to specific policy needs. The establishment of a new authority for AML/CFT, the AntiMoney Laundering Authority (AMLA), is expected to fundamentally reshape the regulatory landscape. This presents both short and long-term challenges, each of considerable complexity. This article focuses on three of AMLA's short-term priorities: establishing a new supervisory framework, organising its internal infrastructure, and engaging with stakeholders. [excerpt] |
