| Abstract: | F’dan l-istudju se nesplora l-performattività tal-atti diskursivi fil-poeżija ta’ Nadia Mifsud, b’enfasi fuq l-isfumaturi tat-twettiq diskursiv fil-lirika. Ibbażat fuq it-teorija tal-atti tad-diskors ta’ J.L. Austin u John Searle, dan l-istudju jinvestiga wkoll kif l-atti illokutorji fil-lirika spiss jinteraġixxu flimkien u joħolqu effetti perlokutorji distintivi għax l-atti illokutorji bl-ebda mod ma jistgħu jiġu sistematizzati f’kategoriji stretti. Se nixħet dawl fuq is-silenzju u d-distanzi, bħala elementi ewlenin li jsawru d-diskors poetiku, billi joffru dimensjonijiet performattivi innovattivi; ninvestiga wkoll it-temi tal-assenza u x-xenqa, kuntesti li fihom il-vuċi lirika tikkumpensa għan-nuqqas ta’ interlokuturi permezz tal-ventrilokwiżmu u l-antropomorfizzazzjoni, b’mod partikulari fil-poeżija eleġijaka u nostalġika. Il-lirika tikxef ukoll l-influwenza tal-pandemija COVID-19 fuq il-komunikazzjoni, tant li n-natura tibda tikseb l-atti illokutorji tagħha wkoll, bħala sostituzzjoni kreattiva għan-nuqqas ta’ interazzjoni umana. Fl-aħħar nett, se nuri kif il-poeżija kontemporanja ta’ Mifsud titfa’ dawl ġdid fuq l-interazzjoni bejn l-atti tad-diskors, bl-aġġustamenti u l-isfumaturi tagħhom, speċjalment fid-distanzi u s-silenzju. This study explores the performativity of speech acts in Nadia Mifsud’s poetry, focusing on the nuanced roles of discourse in lyric poetry. Drawing on J.L. Austin and John Searle’s speech act theory, it examines how illocutionary acts in poetry often blend rather than conform to strict categories, producing distinctive perlocutionary effects. The research highlights silence and distance as key elements that shape poetic discourse, offering new performative dimensions. It also investigates themes of absence and longing, where the lyrical voice compensates for missing interlocutors through ventriloquism and anthropomorphism, especially in elegiac and nostalgic poetry. The study further explores how the COVID-19 pandemic influenced linguistic expression, with nature gaining discursive importance as human communication drastically diminished. Ultimately, it demonstrates how Mifsud’s contemporary poetry highlights the fluid interplay of speech acts especially in distance and silence. |
