Abstract: “Look, I am doing something new, now it emerges; can you not see it?” (Is 43,19). This announcement by the prophet Isaiah has been resonating in my heart from the moment Pope Francis called together the entire People of God in a synodal process that is unique in two thousand years of Church history. The first time was when, from 9 to 10 October 2021, I participated in the inauguration of the process at the Vatican, as a member of the Theological Commission at the Synod Secretariat. This was confirmed to me in September 2022, and then in April 2023, during work I undertook on behalf of the Synod Secretariat, in preparation for the first session of the Synod of Bishops in October 2023.
