Saint Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of the Catholic organization Opus Dei, famously emphasized the transformative power of prayer: “Be bold in your prayers, and the Lord will change a pessimist into an optimist, a coward into a courageous soul, a faint-hearted person into a believer, an apostle.” These words encapsulate the profound ability of prayer to foster hope and spiritual fortitude, particularly during times of adversity.
