Abstract: Four plant species are reported as new to the flora of the Maltese islands: Dactyloctenium aegyptium (L.) P.Beauv. (Family Poaceae), Amaranthus muricatus (Gillies ex Moq.) Hieron. (Family Amaranthaceae), Fumaria reuteri Boiss. (Family Fumariaceae) and Spirodela oligorrhiza (Kurtz) Hegelm. (Family Le111l1aceae). The article gives worldwide distribution, plant characteristics and information on the location and habitat that they were found in. The article is complemented by several illustrations.
