Abstract: The continuous search for the burial place of the Maltese popular surgeon Michel`Angelo Grima is conducted persistently by the author. After several investigations, mainly those retrieved while gathering information on the dispute between the Bishop of Malta and the Confraternity of SS. Cosmas and Damian of 1859, and from evidence that shown that M.A. Grima belonged to the confraternity of the Most Holy Crucifix, the answer began to emerge. The inaccessible crypt wherein his burial place was supposed to be had made it impossible for a proof, until finally a search in the Notarial Archives revealed that within his will M.A. Grima expressly declared that he wanted “his body to be interred in the church of the Friars of St. Francis... in the sepulture of the Confraternity of the Holy Crucifix".
