| Abstract: | Outpatient clinics have two main functions: to provide family doctors with rapid access to specialist expertise and high tech facilities which are centred on the District General Hospital; and to provide hospital doctors with a well organised department for investigation and treatment of patients who do not need a hospital bed but do need specialist supervision. |
