| Abstract: | The following article is an attempt to evaluate the patterns in the use of medical services by diabetic patients in Malta in the last few years during which the National Diabetes Programme has been in progress. It is essentially based on data collected from the polyclinics where diabetes health care is delivered at the primary level, from the diabetes clinic in St. Luke's Hospital where secondary health care is given, and from information elicited from hospital inpatient activity which could serve as an estimate of the impact of diabetes on hospital services. |
