Abstract: Bocci and brilli are two traditional games played in Gozo, which continue to draw interest from locals and tourists alike. Because of the confusion surrounding the history of these games along with other marbled games, this piece serves as an historical and functional clarification. Research conducted through participant observation and informal interviews informs the ethnographic accounts of how these games are conceived of and integrated into the space of leisure, work and social memory.
